Ok so I've got a hotpoint WM31P washing machine and a couple of days ago it decided it didn't want to spin, i heard a fast whirring noise so I assumed it was just the belt. Took the top off and the belt was broken, great, just buy a new belt, easy fix.
Well this morning my belt arrived and i've tried to put it on with great difficulty, but i've only just realised that if i try to spin the drum by hand, it isn't easy! It wont continue to spin once i've let go, so would i be right in assuming the bearings have gone? (which then caused the belt to snap)
