Hi

We have a Hotpoint First Edition 1000 WM52.
The machine stops half way between the letter and the rinse symbol.
We have tried it on E (40C) and H (Quickwash).
The drum also does not turn. It did turn a little the first time that it stuck, when we moved the dial to the spin cycle. However it has not done this again (two more wash attempts) when repeating the same thing.

We have used the Vax and sucked up the grey waste pipe, which sucked out about 1 litre of water (the vax is usually good at sink blockages, so gave it a try).

I've searched this site and found that similar problems on different machines, can sometimes be the filter blocked. Is this the likely case with this?

If so where do I find it as it's not mentioned in the user manual?
The fact that I didn't know about it may also give you some idea on how ofter the filter gets cleaned

Thanks
Mark

You should check the brushes for no drum action then check if sticking on prog and repost.

Hi negeld

Sorry to sound stupid, but where would I find these, what would they look like?
I know about brushes in motors. Are these similar?

Thanks
Mark
