The heat output of any rad depends on the temperature.
You say yours are "very hot" but that is not scientific and as an engineer I would want a temperature.
Heat outputs are now discussed in kW and BTU is a very old fashioned unit now.
There are two common types of TRV, cheaper wax types and the far better liquid filled ones ( alcohol ). You can identify by look if you know how but they are usually known according to the model number. TRV4 are the best known liquid ones costing about £20. They have the fastest response.
I have not heard of water TRVs!
