How’s Rachael from accounts getting on…..

Whose job is it then?
Rachel (who got sacked) from accounts. Obviously.

It's her job to set a policy that secures the necessary revenue/income to meet her spending plans.

If her policy results in an increase in spending elsewhere or a loss of income elsewhere - its on her.

Luckily we have chief bullshítter MBK on hand. (y)

Of those, at least 50% will be at it to varying degrees i.e. could keep working if they wanted to.
Highly unlikely, the 750,000 are mostly people who were working full time then got ill and can’t work have gone from a wage to UC.

Those people want to work

14 years of Tory stagflation

Right now I’m watching the owner of the Vanilla Room on BBC breakfast news, a hair salon that’s been in Hornchurch for 30 years, telling how Rachel’s plan is going to cost her business a thousand pounds a week from April and it’s not sustainable unless she puts prices up by 20%. Looks like another long established company will be going to the wall anytime soon. Labour - the party of business. What a joke!
Just been into town to the BS, opposite is a retail unit being kitted out as a salon & beauty parlour, new business. Funny old world innit

more facts:

The S&P Global UK Manufacturing PMI fell to 46.4 in February 2025 from 48.3 in January, missing market expectations of 48.4, a preliminary estimate showed. It marked the sector’s sharpest contraction since December 2023, as output declined for the fourth consecutive month at an accelerating pace, with sales weakening in both domestic and overseas markets. Additionally, employment levels and unfinished business saw significant declines. On the pricing front, input cost inflation picked up due to rising raw material and energy costs, while factory gate prices posted their steepest increase since April 2023.
