How’s Rachael from accounts getting on…..

So Rachael wants to scrap stamp duty paid by the buyer and instead make the home seller pay a tax on all houses over 500k. But that will just put up the cost of houses as the seller will be adding the tax liability onto the cost. Where at the moment stamp duty keeps the cost of a house down.

The idiot starmer the other day when talking labour up - listing things that have improved - he listed interest rates reducing as a good thing - firstly the Gov is not in control of interest rates and he totally ignores the reason the bank has had to act!!
Emmm, good for my BTL interest only mortgages :)

It's paid by the seller on sale. I can't see the difference other than a south subsidising North tax? We already have that on Stamp duty.
Does she realise that it will impact IHT?

Hey @Notch7 Take note:

"Leaders in the hospitality industry have said that more than half of the UK's job losses since the last budget have come from their sector.

Job losses in restaurants, bars, pubs and hotels total around 89,000 since last October, according to UKHospitality analysis of Office for National Statistics data.

The group said higher taxes announced by Chancellor Rachel Reeves in the Autumn Budget had disproportionately slowed down investment and hiring, adding that "urgent action" was needed to cut business rates and VAT".

Easier than blaming post bregshoite import costs and restrictions on both goods and staff, and the cost of living crisis that means people are less inclined to spend out nowadays......

Remind me who is in government now. And I don't want to here the 14 years excuse, sine labour have got in things have got worse. How long are people going to use the 14 year card - another 14 years, and then we can blame Labour.

Angela Rayner seems to be doing alright out of the cost of living crisis and has just brought a second home for £700k. I thought labour want to discourage second home ownership.

I don't blame you for trying to gloss over the unadulterated shower that went before. (y)

That's why the last GE was seen as a poisoned chalice.

Brexit damage reduction estimates = 50 years. As stated by an ardent Brexer. Keep counting boyo.

What happened to all the food banks, when labour were in opposition they constantly referenced them - BBC did features on them. So now labour are in power have they all shut down because they are not needed.
