Novice's question: i recently bought a flat with a Vaillant VCW Sine 18 T3wFH in my kitchen. I want to turm ny kitchen into a bedroom, but I understand that I can only leave the boiler in the room if its room sealed. How can I find out if it is? Don't have an owners manual. Flue is balanced and exhausts directly through an external wall.

Balanced flue is room sealed. Room sealed means that air for combustion is taken from outside and fumes are exhausted to outside as well.

a sine18 in my bedroom would give me nightmares!

Boilers make a lovely racket in the morning when the heating comes on

See if you can live with it in the winter months.

If not then consider re-siting.

;)

Before doing anything i would get it checked/serviced first.

I have seen a few of them with a large crack in the upper canopy(white enamelled bit on top of boiler)

Although that boiler is one of the all time greats, if i was doing renovations them i would be replacing it.

The new worcesters a virtually silent when running, and are fine in a bedroom.
