How can I manouvre demountable siphon?

Hi, I have a demountable siphon, I've replaced the diaphragm but am struggling to slide it back down on the channel.
The fill valve is in the way.
Any ideas please?

If I can't slide it on should I just add a couple of cable ties to brace it a bit?

If you managed to slide it off ,you should be able to slide it back on. How did you get it past the float valve when removing it ?

I think I must have bent one of the pipes slightly, thanks Ill try again
