Is there something I can have fitted to my mains water pipe to regulate the pressure or different taps I can fit?
I can close down the stop cock but when the mains pressure drops the flow is too slow and if I open the stop cock right up we get a power shower every time the tap is turned on
It is impossible to find a happy medium :? We are in a fairly rural area and the pressure has always been prone to going up and down.
I have a Greenstar combi boiler and an electric shower so I need both of them to work properly
Any advice please :?: :?:

Unfortunately i doubt it. You can fit a pressure reducing valve but this only deals with on of your issues......nothing can be done to the mains to increase pressure........

I don't think I explained it very well---the pressure is always too high, hence the soaking. The only way to reduce it is to shut the stop cock down but then when the mains pressure drops I don't get much pressure at the taps. :) So maybe a pressure reducer is the answer---are they hard to fit :?: I can drive a spanner but don't want to mess it up

the best solution(and something i suspect will become law) is to fit flow limiters at each outlet, with a flow rate suited to its application.
ie 6l/min at basins, 8-10 at sinks and so on. BES do isolator valves that take a limiter item 17527. this can replace isolators, and also provides backflow prevention. If the pressure gets really high, then a 3bar pressure reducing valve can be fitted at the inlet to the property to protect appliances and fittings.

A pressure reducing valve can be adjusted to whatever pressure you want below the actual.

Set it at say 2-3bar and you should be fine.
