The paint on the brick walls of our house is peeling badly. We want to remove it & just have the unpainted bricks. We have heard that sand blasting can damage the bricks & leave them porous. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on this?

Thanks.

our garden retaining wall did this! as it was holding earth bhin th moisure just bubled the paint, even though it was the correct paint for the job, in the end i just put bambo screening across it - problem solved :)

But you could use Paint stripper? and then presuure wash it? then use an outdoor sealer - your local DIY store should have all the bits!

I am no expert though

Sand/grit blasting is really the only way to get 1005 results...never heard of them being left porous...you could always give em a coat or two of water seal though if your concerned.
