Painting exterior bricks (full house paint)

G

gcltd

Hi, we plan to paint our exterior brick on our house (currently unpainted).

If anyone has some tips/advice that would be great.

Do we need to clean the walls, do we need a primer or are there good paints that don't require this etc.

Any advise appreciated.

With respect, your brickwork is bad that it needs covering ? Once painted it's fate is sealed . You and owners after you will be painting it forever. Also some bricks don't take paint well. Can you post some pictures of the brickwork, and reasons why you want to cover it ;) Whatever you do don't be tempted by the "wonder coatings " that are sprayed on and "guaranteed for life" etc.
