How do I apply Wet Dash?

Couldn't find a website but found this on another forum..
In the book by Stafford Holmes and Michael Wingate (Building with Lime), there is a handheld/operated machine that seems to do what mention. They call it a Spatterdash or Tyrolean machine.
The book also has a section on "Wet dash - rough cast" which at brief glance talks of application by hand using a casting trowel.
