Wet Dash Query

Can someone help with a few questions about Wet Dash;

I would like to have 3mm White Wet Dash;
What type/color of stones, cement and sand is normally used to achieve a clean white wet dash?

Is there any point in using quartz stones when you are mixing with Cement?
