Assuming that it was wired the usual way, blue to 2 and orange to 5 connects the line. The usual convention was brown to 3 for the ringer (green to 4, though not normally used), but some conversions to the new jacks with this older-style cable were done with brown & green the opposite way around.
You could check the other end of the extension to be sure.
