How do I remove this from wall?

This isn't a rawl plug, I can't screw anything in there. I thought maybe something sharp but a knife didn't seem to do much.

I'm guessing it just needs prised out somehow? I don't want to damage the wall more than I need to as I have to polyfil after and paint
