I would not cut CPC, sleeve and terminate in connection block if possible.

Unfortunately the connection block inside the light only has live and neutral.
you can use one outside of the light for the cps
I'm not sure I know what you mean by one outside of the light.
Am I ok just sleaving the earth core and folding it away from the other two in the casing that houses the connection block?

i would sleeve it, fold it back on intself so it comes out of the housing, and put in a terminal block outside the housing
