How do you apply silicone sealant PROFESSIONALLY?

"Pampered Chef" do a stoneware pan scraper that has the exact dimensions needed to get a perfect finish on silicone sealant. It even looks similar to those fugi kits. They have 3 radiuses on them and one 90 degree corner.

I discovered this by accident but they do make a near perfect finish.
found one on ebay for about 50p

I have always had good results with acrylic sealant and decorators caulk using a wet finger to smooth it, but when I tried Silicone, I found it stuck to my finger and made an awful mess. Hence I haven't tried again. It sounds like modern silicone might be easier to use :?
