How do you soundpoof the bedroom floor?

seriously though, has anyone got any bright ideas about sound insulation for upstairs floors. I guess you can use rockwool type stuff between the joists but I think it'll keep the bedroom HOT rather than quite. And before you ask; there is a perfectly rational explanation.

yeah, carpet and underlay...

wooden floors are cheap and tacky.. stop it...!!!

sanded or painted floorboards are even worse.. !!!!
 
Insulating between the joists in the bedroom floor wont make the bedroom hot, if anything it will prevent the heat from rising so will keep the louge (or whatever is below) warm and keep the bedroom cooler.

And it will reduce the transmission of noise slightly too.

Moaning wives aside, I'm thinking of putting a home studio up which won't be super loud but enough to keep people sleeping in neighboring rooms; how would one soundproof a ceiling?
