could someone tell me( simply) how putting cleaner in expansion tank in loft in open vented system circulates to other radiators? i know i should have put this into a radiator and had one all isolated with a little kit from screwfix but lost a fair amount as i couldnt seem to get it in the rad so in a huff i put it into expansion tank. bottle says to leave for week then flush through which i am ok with but should i leave it longer as i have put it in the tank instead of radiator? and i just cant work out how it would circulate - if indeed it will!

need to drain a couple of gallons out of the bottom of the system.
turn off water or tie up ball vale and drain system from a drain off some where just enough so tank empties ,wont need much then the cleaner will be in pipework.
should really have drained the tank then added but this way will still be better than just in tank .if you just leave it in tank it will eventually get some of it circulating by the expansion of the water but might well also loose some through the overflow.

yep, tie up the ballcock and drain some water out of the bottom of the system. Put the drained water back in the tank. Run pump a bit. Repeat a few times.
