We are told that immigration is vital to the country. (The country being non-immigrants that is).

All I see is towns full of scruffy shops, run by immigrants with the customers being immigrants also. Much of the money changing hands in this having come from the taxpayer.

How does this benefit the rest of us and what would happen to the rest of us without it?

(Footnote, government borrowing was 18 billion in August. One billion per month is paid directly to foreigners living here).

Excellent point. Unless they have a direct benefit to us such as a Dr or a specialised engineering background that can fill a shortage gap. A corner shop dealing amongst their own and taking over areas is not needed.

Town centres vary, some are still vibrant, some are boarded up and some in between. Out of town shopping, post lock down shopping habits all contribute to the state of town centres. Cafes and the evening pub and club culture have replaced shopping as the main use in and around these areas. A lot of Council's take the opportunity to pedestrianise these areas which is a mistake for people who want to nip in to town to buy something, but it gives the impression they are doing something. Then there’s Hul.

So there are no employment gaps in non doctor roles in the NHS?

Or no employment gaps in social services?
Or no employment gaps in agricultural work?
Or no employments gaps in any occupation you consider 'non specialised'?

Since 'indigenous' people aren't willing to do a lot of these 'mundane' jobs, would you prefer them not to be done at all rather than rely on the type of immigrants you don't want?

And the thing is those who despise those immigrants have no concept of joined up thinking...

If you're happy to accept specialised immigrants, that creates a brain drain in other mostly poorer countries...

Which exasperates poverty and thus creates more migrants which infuriates people such as yourself even more

Corner shops should be reserved for Britons. :ROFLMAO:

The brexhit bus pledge will cover that shortfall. Or re join the single market

The image is a still from the British dark comedy television series The League of Gentlemen, featuring the character Pauline Campbell-Jones. The quote "This is a local shop for local people. There's nothing for you here" is one of the show's most iconic lines, spoken by Edward Tattsyrup, a character who, along with his wife Tubbs, runs a local shop and is fiercely protective of their isolated community of Royston Vasey. The line encapsulates the show's themes of xenophobia, isolation, and the bizarre nature of the town's inhabitants
Is it also referring to the bizarre nature of some of the posters on here? :giggle:

In other words you support immigrants as long as they do the horrible, low paid jobs that the British are loathe to do, plus jobs where they clean for us, serve us and generally labour on low pay for our benefit.

Be sure to tune in next week for more Lovely Liberal Ideas!

...
You could always pay them more, the same wages that an indigenous worker would get.
