I have been self isolating for a year and only used the car for about 6 very short journeys. I have also run the engine at about 1500 rpm for 12/15 mins every 2 weeks. A week ago, I think it just about started when I went for my 2nd vaccine. I want to leave at 6 am one morning to go on holiday (which is a 250 mile trip so that should fully charge it) and was wondering how far I need to drive beforehand to ensure that there is enough charge in the battery to start it that morning, I live near a motorway so could drive on that?

I would think just a quick trip up to the next junction and back should be sufficient providing your battery and alternator are in reasonable nick.
