How I Rewired The Loft Lights (with pics)

Found at a recent PIR to a house.

You may notice 4 or 5 different types of cables - I have taken photos of all the light fittings or joins! Each light and join had different type of cables to the next!

The remedy? Ripped out. No loft lights now! Customer didn't want the expense of new lights.

I love lofts. On a similar vein. This "JB" was discovered during a PIR. this one was located just where your hand goes as you come up the loft ladder.
Note the super method for looping the live feeds...

It truley is scarey was some people think is an acceptable wiring practice....

The guy who owned this house before the current occupier was a mechanic....specialising in auto-electrics by all accounts.
