how long before tiling?

I am about to rip off tiles in a fully tiled bathroom and will be only part tiling the walls when I re-do it. As a result i'm expecting to have to skim the walls once i take gouges out etc with a bolster.

I'm just trying to work out a bt of a schedule and was wondering could someone guesstimate how long would i need to leave between skim coat and Re-tiling?

Oh, any advice on how to get the remaining tile adhesive off neatly?

Hi,
i always use a sds drill with a chisel bit to remove adhesive and wait 4 weeks before i tile on new plaster
