The walls of the kitchen were stripped back to brick then plasterboard secured and then plaster which was done on Saturday and its still not dry.

So how long should it take? I have to delay the kitchen fitters as the walls need to be painted but didnt think it would take this long to dry.

Is it getting ventilation? Personally I wouldn't paint a skim much sooner than this anyway. You need to mist coat it first. You can make life easier (quicker) if you use non-vinyl paint for topcoat as well.

You can paint after the units are fitted you know..

Buy "paint for new plaster" - it's microporous and allows the wall to continue drying underneath

I gave mine a week after it had all gone that light salmon colour. Father in law painted his even though tere were still dark patches. To be fair, his paint doesn't seem to have suffered..
