Hi all
I am doing my own footings for a timber frame conservatory which will be reasonably heavy.
I am thinking of 40cm wide by 50cm deep trench filled with concrete.
so if thats ok i need 3.2 cu mtrs of concrete.

My question is what ratio mix and therefore how many bags of cement will i need?

Thanks for any advice.

you will need approximately 1 tonne of cement to create 3.2 cubic metres of concrete. this will be added to 6 tonnes of ballast at a rate of 6:1.

1T of cement is 40 x 25kg bags.

get it delivered from a concrete wagon. you will pay around £100 (ish) per cubic meter and it will take you no time at all. to mix 3+ meters will take a long time and you wont save anything mixing it after buying all aggregates and your time.
