How much does it cost to get a boiler replaced?

Energy efficiency was brought into 5 year rule last year .
What building control charge is up to them some charge as little as £50 some charge hundreds .This will be because they should be making a visit to check.
You don`t have to make a visit as you are already there.
As i said previous it does not cost you anything extra on top of what you already pay in ACS/corgi membership to be able to register a boiler. Other than £2.50

they only charge 2.50 what about his time/electricty/computer/phone factor this in,or do you get free electricty or phone/computer these are all relevant costs that need to be factored in to the overall costs. multiplied by the amount of installs you do it soon adds up over the five yrs,oh yes loss of earnings while you try to register on a constantly crashing site paid for by our registration fees

Time 2 minutes , computer eh you have one and an internet package otherwise you would not be replying to this topic so no extra cost there . Electricity minimal. Crashing website never had the corgi site crash on me.
Oh and benefit is you can claim for the computer on your return and your phone and probably your net package.

At the end of the day Its up to the RGI what he charges so if there are some out there NOT charging for notifying then more fool them IMO.

If you want the bother of running your own business then you might want to earn say £54kpa
Overheads say £10kpa
YOu might achieve 40 weeks a year, 4 days a week earning = 160 days
64k/160 = £400/day
Boiler change with powerflush, 2 days, = £800.

Yes. It would cost one million pounds, plus £2.50 for the registration.

2 of my lads are doing an exchange today for a old couple. £800 for viessmann 100 18kw open vented and £700 for install. plus 40 for chemicals.
£1340 total + vat. we were 500 cheaper than the 2 other quotes and they wanted to install ideal classic HE/worcester RI.

1 day to remove old boiler and fit new boiler, line up new flue, do all pipe work. then remove new boiler, link pipe work for flush, do most of flush today and rest tomorrow morning, finish and titivation tomorrow afternoon.

2 days work, probably £300 a day money before tax, and thats cheap! but i know the couple and the luck they have been having, they need a break.

just changed my powermax for a vallaint 837. the cost was £2k

i bought the boiler for £850 +vat.

we moved the boiler one floor up into the loft, so had to do new pipe work. Changed one rad for a new one and did a drop for another rad in the hall. also power flushed.

i paid for most stuff.

plumber charged £700. it took 3 1/2 days with both of us working. he charged £180 plus few fittings and power flush hire.

i sold the copper for £89.

this would have been £1k more if i hadn't worked with him. he was a good guy and all is ok.

the attic is to be converted in the next yr by the way.
