How much does removing a chimney stack usually cost.

Hi. My girlfriend and I bought a terrace house a few months ago that has had our side of the chimney stack removed as far up as the attic. The remaining 6 foot or so is not very well supported so I'd like to get the rest of the chimney removed and then reconstruct the roof afterwards.

Since this is my first house, I don't know how much to expect in terms of costs. So that I don't get ripped off, can anybody give me a ball park figure on how much this type of work normally costs?

If it has been removed from the bottom up it won’t cost s thing to remove the rest. It will come down all on its own.
