How Much for Double Glazing?

I have a small terraced house without double glazing. I'd like a rough idea of how much I can expect to pay for cheapish double glazing all round the house without getting salesmen involved. The house has 1 bay window at the front, 4 normal sized windows upstairs, 2 similar sized windows down stairs and 1 back door. I live in Wales so I'm assuming it would be slightly cheaper here than in the London area.

are the old windows rotten, or are you hoping to save energy?

for energy saving, the cost of windows is so high, and the energy saved is so little, that it is not an economic proposition.

Google DIY double glazed windows - several firms will do supply only - cheaper units. This will give you a guide of the minimum you will pay. Factor in either building control for your Fensa Cert or a local Fensa fitter to do it properly.

For all the hassle of doing it yourself and making good it will properly pay you to get a local firm to fit them.

Be aware that if you go the DIY route it's notifyable Building Work & you will need a certificate of compliance for it when you come to sell.
