How much is a fair price to repoint a 3 bedroom semi?

What the f*** is happening to this site?

Is it just becoming a place where people wring their hands and ask "how much, how much" and trot out the now familiar "my builder/plumber/sparky/wife is ripping me off"?

Is there any way to make the "no prices" rule more prominent? A banner flashing across the 'message body' box when creating a new topic perhaps? Maybe a change of wording from "Post a reply" to "Post a reply that doesn't involve asking for a quote or estimate and isn't a whinge about another tradesperson or business"?

FFS.

I think softus is trying to say, see forum rule 9, then read it
No. I'm not.

There's no point in continually saying that because so many people don't do it. There needs to be a more effective method of pointing out the rule to people before they post their whiney and skinflinty attempts to beat down the price they've been quoted.

And it doesn't help when some members go right ahead and give them a price anyway.

for maybe the first time i have to agree with you.

what's the betting admin do nothing about it.

It is getting a bit beyond a joke, all you have to do is look.

It seems you have far too much time on your hands looking at your post count

A simple...
No prices allowed would have sufficed (from a moderator or some one in authority)

I dont see whats wrong with asking what a fair ballpark figure is for a simple job like repointing?

its not like its structural work or asking 'how much is my 2 storey extension going to cost'

ITS POINTING FFS

I already know what a fair price is...but was hoping for a few other opinions. its no problem if I wont get any...but theres no need to be such a t**t

It seems your pretty negative with most of your posts softus..try lightening up a little

Its all there in the forum rules if you had bothered to read them

If you were to read the rules then you would know why
