I plan on fitting a new bathroom suite in my house and as part of this I will be tileing my bathroom floor.

I plan on laying the floor first. As there are currently no tiles on the floor I can sit the toilet etc on top of the tiles and save cutting round them. (This will be after I have seen to pipes/cables running under the floor)

The new bath will go in place where the current bath is located, but should I be tileing the whole floor or am I best to tile just beyond where the side of the bath is so the side of the bath will cover any untiled section and leave underneath the bath untiled or is there any benefit to tileing under the bath as well. The shape of the bathroom also means I am highly unlikely to change the position of the bath as well.

Build frame for bath, tile up to frame. Tile rest of floor then fit sink and toilet. You should not cut around the toilet anyhow.

No advantage to tiling under the bath unless it is one of the new stand alone ones! The earwigs might like a tiled floor though!
