How should I connect bathroom light

I have connected all black wire to neutral and red banded black to live. All lights are now working. Thank you so much. Do you mean connect earths together in a terminal box? New light doesn’t have an earth point.

All four of the earth wires, need to be together, in one common terminal! Even if there is no earth terminal on your new light..

As they are in your photo, there will be one section of the circuit, in other rooms, which lack an earth, on the earth terminals.

So put all 4 into 1 end terminal block like this? Sorry if I’m a little unsure on this. Your help is very much appreciated

All four (or what ever number of them there are), needed to be connected together. If you can get them into one connector, fine, if not, use two connectors, but they would need to be linked/connected together. You are aiming for good, metal, to metal contact between all of the earth wires.

Looking at your first photo - I think I see the open end of some green/yellow sleeving at the back, might that be an earth wire?

Great - there were 5 in the end managed to fit them into above fitting. Hopefully all looks good? Again really appreciate this

It's fine.

Out of curiosity, how are these red wires which I highlighted connected to each other?

Initially I assumed these are the 2 bumps of a choc bloc

but not so sure now.

There are 5 blacks and I believe 5 reds 5 in cables, so there should be 5 earth wires too but only see 4 poking out of the sleeves in the earlier picture scrub this, already covered

There should be no bare, exposed copper outside the connectors, otherwise - well done.

Without removing the tape, it can only be a guess, but judging by the number of blacks.......

1-live in, 3-loop lives, 1 loop live to feed that rooms switch = 5.

To be honest, whoever originally wired it, it's a bit of a mess. They seem to have wired the live and neutral pairs, in a star pattern, all radiating from that one light, using that light as a central joint box.

Normally you would do it by taking a live and neutral pair to each light, then a live and neutral pair onto the next one - going round each light in turn. That way you would only have three T&E's at each rose. One in, one out to the next one, plus one T&E down to the switch.

If it were me, I would be looking to make better job of it, by adding some sort of joint-box above. The type of joint, and jointbox, will depend upon what is above that ceiling. You could have all those lives, looped lives, plus the neutral and looped neutrals in the box, just a looped L&N plus the switch pair down to the ceiling rose. Two T&E's, versus the what appears to be five, at the moment.
