Hi Chaps,

I have concreted in a pair of gate posts to hang a pair of wrought Iron gates. The posts are about 800mm into the ground and have half a ton of concrete around each.

The gates are really heavy, how soon after setting the posts do you think I can hang the gates?

There are no additives in the 4:1 mix, and the posts only went in yesterday.

Thanks,

James.

Concrete reaches 90% of ultimate strength after 28 days and approximately 60% or 70% of 28 day strength after 7 days. So I'd wait 5 to 7 days if I were you.
