I've concreted a 3x3 timber post into the ground next to a chalk wall to use as a gate post. The gate is 1000mm x 2000mm ; I'm worried that once I hang the gate the post will flex.

I want to use a galvanised bracket to brace the post against the chalk wall.

Can I drill the chalk and plug it or use concrete screws? Any advice welcome.

Thanks in advance

Rob

The answer I found is yes. Madonary bit and rawl plugs very successful.
