I know most people would say, remove all of the loose stuff and then re-plaster fully. And yes, in an ideal world I would do this.
However, this would mean removing pretty much ALL of the plaster from all of the walls and, from experience I have found that this isn't really necessary. I have 'lived' with hollow-sounding plaster for many years in various homes and never had a problem. The whole lot isn't really going to come crashing down.
I've repaired in the past when affixed to lathes, by drilling and squirting with gripfill plus drill and plating to keep the whole lot in place. I was wondering if I could do something similar here?
Any thoughts?
