I have a plot of land at the rear of my house roughly 4.5m wide (the car in the photo is in the middle of the 4.5m) and 9.5m long, one end (at the back )is fenced the other 3 sides open. I'm in the middle of 11 houses which all have these plots side by side at the rear of our houses and we have to leave reasonable space ( in the foreground of the pic) to allow each other's cars in and out.. It's open plan but we've never needed markings or signs it's all been done by co-operation. However the terraces next to ours don't have any off-road parking and despite a 'private land no entry' sign at each end of the terrace some of the occupiers of those have started parking on our plots - mainly mine as I don't own a car anymore so there's usually an empty space unless I've hired a car or have visitors. If I see them parking I can warn them off but in the most recent case a car was left on my land for a week. It's a semi rural area so I think something like bollards will be OTT. I can put no parking signs up on the fence at the back of my plot but I think I need something more as a deterrent. So I want enough room to park a vehicle if required but I want to create some sort of 'garden feature' so ppl would think 'better not park there'. Any ideas?
