How to fully RESET HONEYWELL Galaxy G2-20 system; lost pin

Hi ponter, this hasn't worked :( system keeps saying Alert! ENTER CODE doing my head in haha

If I remember leave off lid but put a screw in where the tamper is so it closes then do a reset .
 
Power up with link in -power down take out link put screw in tamper power up should reset code think I had to do a couple of times
 
When you power up and get alert message are you using code 1234 ent ?
 
Guys could this problem possibly relate to the alarm having no battery in it??
