How to get nice curving block paving?

For someone who wants to try some DIY in the back garden himself or has access to inexpensive labourers to help, could some of your folk please explain to me how to get those nice wavy or curving block paved edges to flow so nicely.

Same with edging - how is when these concrete slabs are not curved do you manage to make a nice semi circle without showing too many mortar joints etc? Are there templates you can buy or is it just the way it is laid?

You can either taper cut them or fan them.
Tapered cuts look better.

Practice using full block by having each block touching on the inside of arc and adjusting the gap at the top.

For example a two metre arc the block will touch on the inner part and have a gap of about 10mm on the outer between each block.
