Have bought a lovely new bathroom cabinet but am having trouble putting it up.

I cant drill holes deep enough into the wall to take the screws. Have tried a couple of different locations on the wall to no avail. Apparently the housing association must have used some unearthly material to build our house that is so hard that its repellant to all drill bits!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions? would be very much appreciated.

i think we just have a regular drill, it doesnt have hammer action but i did buy some masonary bits to use in it but they didnt work.

Do i need to get a proper masonary drill? This is gonna turn out to be a very expensive cabint! :(

Hammer action makes the job so much easier but if you start of with a masonry bit of around 3 - 4mm then use progressively larger bits until you have the correct size of hole then you should manage. One point though, if you have a variable speed drill, the larger bits should be used with a slower speed than the smaller bits.

Good luck :)
