Hello, I have just had 2 planter walls built with Marshalls Argent walling and coping. Can anyone please advise as to what sort of liner I should put into the walls before gravel and soil?

Thanks for any advice

1200 gauge black dpm is ideal and available from most builders merchants and diy shops. Any kind of impermeable plastic will do really and it should be kept as tight to the wall as possible.

Alternatively use a paint on dpm but its messy and takes forever to dry in winter weather.

Oh and obviously just the walls, not the bottom unless you want a bog garden planter.

Depends of course what your growing but I usually fill raised beds with 2:1:1 soil:manure:grit/coarse sand. Its good foe most perrenials and common garden plants, for greedy vegetables or dry herbs obviously change the ratios.
