How to Measure Cast Iron Downpipe?

I want to fit a water butt to my cast iron downpipes. I've measured the external dimensions of the downpipe as 107mm wide x 83mm deep but I'm not sure what size that relates to (whether the measurements provided are internal's for the pipe so might be 100x75, or perhaps internals for the large-end-adaptors in which case might be 125x100?)

I don't know, could you take your measurements + a ruler down to one of the big sheds (homebase-B&Q) and nose around the parts themselves.

Perfect! Many thanks. That's definitely the size I have - I have no idea, from those schematics, how it got to be called 100x75! but there we are
