Hi all,

I have removed around 7 concrete slabs which was our garden path in the garden that we never used. There was no sand and cement used to keep these down and they was only layed onto the soil many years ago.

What would be the quickest and cheapest way to grass the area where the slabs have been as its grass either side of where the path was. I have never put down grass seed or turf before so was not sure on the best option

Cheers

Quickest would be to turf but you would need to remove some soil

Cheapest would be to seed, no digging needed but would take time to grow

Hi all,

So if I was going to use turf would I need to prep and feed the soil that the slabs was on before I lay the turf.

Turf is like £3 per square meter, no point using seed. Not much prep needed, just put it down on raked soil and keep well watered.
