No matter how easy, quick or free it is to register it's annoying to have to register when all you want to do is upload an image quickly.

http://www.imageshack.us/ is pretty much the same process without the need to register. Small delay in loading as it's US based, but http://www.imageshock.eu are europe based, just never used them.

One thing to bear in mind with free image hosting is it will be removed eventually. They will normally host for a few months though, which is generally long enough to get any question answered.

As you have to register with photobucket, does that mean they host for longer or perhaps forever?

As long as the images comply with their terms and conditions they should remain. They do reserve the right to delete an account that has been inactive for 90 days though.

You mean Imageshack.

You have to copy the correct link. If you want a thumbnail link, you have to copy the link it gives you to do this. This will result in a picture like yours there, but it will be clickable to take you to Imageshack to view the image full size.

Don't know quite how you ended up with that small non-clickable thumbnail, to be honest. You must have uploaded the thumbnail image! Copy the link that says "direct link to image" and insert it here between tags.

I recently abandoned Imageshack in favour of Photobucket, which allows you to keep all your photos in your album so you know where they are.

You can link to them, the same as Imageshack.

The good thing about ImageShack is that if you install the toolbar you can drag'n'drop image files from your PC into the posting window.

It will automatically upload them and stick the url with [ IMG] tags into the post.
