I'm planning to build a wooden lead-to greenhouse and have been looking at the types of wood available.

The timber I'm considering is "Sawn, Treated, Kiln Dried C16" but since it's sawn that is currently too rough to apply stain or paint.

I know that I can smooth out the surface of the timber for painting by either planing or using an electric sander. Which would you recommend?

Thanks for your advice,

Robin

just buy c.l.s.

this timber is like a sawn/planed hybrid. it is sold with all sides pre sanded or such like and is very user friendly.

if you use treated sawn timber, you can use those fence stains that come in various brown and green colours. it will look more rustic if you like that sort of thing. Water-based, is very easy to apply and leaves a water-repellent film on the wood.
