We recently had a fibreglass roof laid and the top of the upstanding finish is untidy in places. The roofer suggested the window installer would cut any excess to fit the window. The window company say they would normally deal with it to make window sit right but couldn't say how. I'm worried they'll silicone it.
So, I’m wondering if there is a way to tidy this up myself so the roof windows don’t have any leak/ issues.
For example, would it be okay to cut this away until the edge shown as the yellow line and then install a fibreglass external angle edge trim with clout nails/ grip adhesive? The trim would sit over the upstand edge but wouldn't be fibre glassed - would that cause any issues?
Or could I use flashing tape?
Any advice and suggestions much appreciated.
