Can anyone offer some tips on how to remove expanding foam from an acryllic bath. It is around the edge of the bath and was smeared when wet so now we have a thin layer all along the side. I have tried using a stanley knife blade to scratch away at it but if I continue to do this I will end up scratching the bath which will no doubt get quite dirty.

Does your home insurance cover DIY blunders?

by David Masters

DIY Brits planning to do up their homes on the cheap should check their home insurance policy covers them for any DIY blunders before they get out the toolbox, Saga Insurance warned this week.

The over-50s insurance specialist issued the warning to coincide with new research showing that DIY is a popular past-time with the older generation.

Three quarters of over-50s opt to do up their home using DIY rather than hiring a professional tradesmen.

The over-50s also like others to share in their DIY hobby, with 47% calling in family members to help them with DIY tasks.

They’re also more carefully and less likely to cause an accident, with only 10% of over-50% having had to call in the professionals to fix a botched DIY job, compared to 21% of under-50s.

Nearly a third (31%) of over-50s have injured themselves whilst carrying out DIY.

“Homeowners should check they have accidental damage cover as part of their home insurance, just in case their DIY dreams turn in to DIY disasters,” said Andrew Goodsell, Saga’s executive chairman.

If you haven't tried already, it might be worth a try giving it a bit of a scrub with acetone (think there is some in nail varnish remover).
Don't know if it will affect the bath though.
Good luck.

Ok thanks for the advice. Dont think I'll bother claiming for it, the excess is £100 so may as well just bite the bullet and buy a new bath.
