How to remove shower hose (behind bath panel)

Afternoon all

Unfortunately the shower hose in the bath is leaking where the shower head attaches. I tried replacing the O ring but that didn’t help, still water pouring out and back down the pipe.

Not the end of the world to replace the hose but I had to remove the bath panel in order to gain access to hose. It was practically welded on and most of the tiles came off in the process but I should be able to use them again.

Having finally removed the panel I’ve unscrewed the first hose attachment and presented with this (see picture).

According to Google AI, the image shows a SharkBite fitting connecting a rigid pipe to a flexible hose.

I am hoping that’s not the case- I think it’s just the end of the hose connection and I need to give it some welly to unscrew it? Also guessing the water needs to be off too- can’t see an isolator there though.

Any advice would be appreciated!

fixed to the wall; I’m unsure how that is connected to the hose. But you should be able to unscrew everything from that wall fitting with a couple of spanners, and then investigate further.

That does look like the part. I’m going to have another poke around tomorrow. There is an ‘outer’ part of the shower hose that screws on to the exposed thread you can see. Will take another picture if I can’t get the hose out. Hopefully it won’t involve taking everything off the wall as it’s such a cramped space.

Looks like a whirpool type jacuzzi bath? Does the hose come up through a hole in the bath edge and there a button/diverter tap to turn it on? If so it may be a bespoke hose to replace that one. You'll may need the make and poss model of the bath

The hose end in pic one may be a flanged spigot and it's just pushed into the male fitting that's into the wall plate elbow, may also have an o- ring in there. The nut from the hose, which has been undone and is no longer in the pic, would just tighten the flanged spigot end on the hose into the fitting and the o-ring is the seal. It should just pull out with a bit of effort as the seal in there will probably be stuck in the fitting given the time it'll have been in there.

It was just a hole cut into the bath as there are no taps. All was good until the end of the hose started leaking down through the hole into the floor!

Good news and bad news I got the hose off- never seen an attachment like that before (see photo). Problem is that I can’t pass it up though the hole/fitting.

I’ve removed everything now and replaced with a spare hose but can’t figure out how to get the old one back through the fitting. I can always just cut through it but then I’ve got the issue of not being able to fit the new hose back through the fitting.

If I were you, I'd now revisit how to fix the seal between the hose and the showerhead, without getting a new hose....

Tried a new o ring but still leaking. Will try some grips just in case it can be prised apart. On the positive side this part is only £83 on Amazon
