Interested in fitting a Velux window to my house.

Happy with all the internal and carpentry aspects, but what I'm stuck on is the roofing part.

How do you remove these slates from inside (once the felt is removed, obviously...)

(I'm assuming they are actually slates!)

They are not slate. Probably Asbestos fake slate but if your lucky cement fibre. though doubtful.
you have to sacrifice a couple before you can take any out from inside.

If it helps, it's a 30's ex-LA property.

I'm happy to break a couple (I won't need them once the window goes in), it's more just if I will really struggle to get them out hole and reinstall them after i've done the window, then it might be a job for a roofer.

they will be asbestos, you will need a few for cuts up the sides, but might be a good idea to buy a few cement fibre doubles rather than cut these.

You definitely don't want to be cutting those at all never
mind in the loft!
Catladder or scaffolding from the outside and rip a few
out with a slate ripper above were you require the opening.
