We're having a sofa delivered which needs 2'6" of width and our doorway only has a 2'5" gap.

Its a UPVC frame and door, and there's a good inch or more taken up just with the 'lip' of the door frame within which the door sits.

Looking at the door frame it appears to be attached to whatever it attaches to by a series of screws. How easy would it be to remove the door frame / part of the door frame so as to allow the sofa to be brought into the house?

Its the only access (other than removing a window) and I'm quite sure the sofa doesn't dismantle further.

Having moved a fair bit of furniture in my time I'd be amazed if you needed to remove the door frame - there's always a way of getting a sofa through a door, maybe by standing it on end and rotating it through the door, especially if the dims are only 1 inch bigger.

Alternatively some bigger sofas can be partially dismantled.
