How to return Dot and Dab to existing plaster

DIYer here,

I'm about to dot and dab a new extension and I need to join it to existing plaster work.

Any ideas?

The plasterer will tape and put edging on.

Also, what distance from the wall should the plasterboard be spaced? First fix cabling is done but no socket boxes have been placed.

On the trowel..... it's a YouTube channel will help.

25mm boxes so that's the gap however i sunk 25mm boxes in a bit. I found 15 to 20mm gap was what I was getting. Sometimes if wall is out no gap

What do they mean fit to existing plaster. On the corner? Finish there then bang on. Fit metal corner bead after
