Hi kind people,
Need some advise on what best to use on sliding door frame (see photo).
Would sealant, caulk or self adhesive sealant strips work best on it.
Leads to a conservatory which can get very hot and the current sealant is grey tacky and melts on hot day.
Many thanks on any advice or product best to use.

It's like a butyl based sealer like chewing gum and drips when it gets hot, my only suggestion would be to scrape it clean with a stanley knife blade holder, clean the remainder off with thinners, ensure it's properly dry then seal in a silicone of your choosing, me personally being good at sealing I would do it in black to replicate a black gasket, silicone wise I'd use a low modulus neutral cure silicone only because I have a van full but there may be some better polymer based ones out there but can't comment on those as I don't use them in my trade
