I would like to improve the sound insulation between me any my neighbour. I live in a block of flats where the bedroom shares a wall with the next flat, and can hear the neighbour if she puts her radio on loud or is stomping about. She's not particularly noisy or antisocial but nevertheless I can hear her some times (and no doubt vice versa) and want to reduce this.

The block of flats was built in the 1970s of concrete, single leaf (I assume). I was thinking of covering the wall in soundproof plasterboard (Wickes?) fixed on with screws, possibly with a layer of plastic membrane inbetween. Is this a worthwhile endeavour? Any advice or suggestions?

Thanks,

F
